Jared M. Witt concentrates his legal practice in the fields of business and commercial law, and real estate law. He represents businesses and individuals in all matters dealing with day-to-day business and legal issues, including business organization and governance, compliance, contracts and employment issues, as well as more extraordinary matters, such as business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, financing (debt and equity), and commercial disputes. The Office also represents clients on residential and commercial real estate matters.
Jared's broad legal and business background has included positions in large and small law firm environments and in-house corporate counsel positions.
Jared has served as General Counsel of TerraCycle, Inc., an innovative sustainable solutions and consumer products company which is a leader in the "green" business field, and Jared continues to serve TerraCycle as outside counsel. Among his many achievements at TerraCycle, Jared structured and negotiated licensing and packaging collection programs with Fortune 100 companies, completed two rounds of equity financing for the company, oversaw the development of numerous new products and the organization of an international corporate structure. Jared has also served as in-house counsel at an environmental consulting and remediation company. Previously, Jared practiced corporate law, securities law, banking and real estate law at the Princeton-based firm, Jamieson Moore Peskin & SPicer, and at New York-based Windels Marx Lane & Mittendorf, during which time he represented primarily small and mid-cap public and private companies.
Jared received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and his Juris Doctor degree in 1995 from Rutgers University School of Law, and has been part of the Graduate Tax Program at Villanova University School of Law. While at Rutgers Law School, Jared studied international environmental law in Nairobi, Kenya, and received such awards as the American Jurisprudence Award for excellence in Moot Court.
Jared has a strong interest in environmental issues, and has represented companies involved in various areas of environmental sustainability and technology. Witt include individuals and businesses in the fields of banking; food, alcohol and beverage; travel; shipping and transportation; construction and development; technology consulting; retail; manufacturing; environmental.
Jared lives in Rocky Hill, New Jersey, and is very involved in the community, including having served as an elected Borough Council member and Borough Council President, on various local governmental committees, Public Defender, member of non-profit Boards, and coach of his daughters' softball and basketball teams.
Jared is licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey, the Federal District of New Jersey, the State of New York and the Southern District of New York, and the State of Colorado. Jared is a member of the New Jersey Bar Association and the Association of Corporate Counsel.
Kevin J. Musiakiewicz, Of Counsel to the firm, graduated summa cum laude from Seton Hall University School of Law. After earning his law degree, Kevin was a judicial clerk to the Honorable Edward M. Oles, J.S.C., in the Superior Court of New Jersey.
Following his clerkship, Kevin became associated with the firm Hoagland, Longo, Moran, Dunst & Doukas in New Brunswick, where he concentrated his practice in the defense of professinoal malpractice matters. He then joined the franchise litigation department of Bressler, Amery & Ross, PC in Morristown. During his tenure with Bressler, Kevin represented automobile dealers throughout the country in disputes with auto manufacturers, and coordinated a series of class action suits challenging manufacturer mandates and incentives.
In 2001, Kevin joined the Princeton office of Windels Marx Lane & Mittendorf, where he represented a host of public and private clients in an extensive range of civil and regulatory matters. His experience included the representation of the nation's largest insurers in connection with licensing, compliance, rate filings adn teh defense of bad-faith and coverage-based claims, the representation of the second-larges solid waste disposal company in litigation and transaction al matters, and the defense of class action suits against state and municipal entities.
Kevin now focuses his practice on commercial litigation, business and transactional matters, consumer fraud, class actions litigation and special education law.
Kevin is licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey, as well as the Unites States District Court of New Jersey. Kevin is a member of the New Jersey and Ocean County Bar Associations.
